First German construction company in DJSI

Hochtief Aktiengesellschaft is the first German construction company and one of only six construction service providers in the world to be included in the prestige Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). From September 18, Hochtief stock is a component of both the DJSI World Index and the DJSI STOXX Index. This has far-reaching implications: Various investment funds and certificates track the DJSI or use them as their benchmark. Hochtief stock will therefore become an even more attractive buy for such investors. “This shows that our efforts toward sustainability in our business activities not only have a positive impact on people and the environment, but directly enhance the appeal of our stock,” says Dr. Hans-Peter Keitel, Chairman of the Hochtief Executive Board.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices admit companies which, alongside financial criteria, take account of environmental and social criteria (in other words, sustainability) in their corporate management and also document the fact. Of the 311 corporate groups in the DJSI World Index, only 20 are German. This places Hochtief in a pioneering role. The Group has committed itself intensively in recent years to developing and implementing a Group-wide sustainability strategy.
