CEE: New role at DTZ

Global property adviser DTZ has created a new senior managerial role. The move was made in response to the company's rapid regional expansion, especially in retail property. DTZ's managing director in Poland, Alan Colquhoun has been appointed managing director for Poland and Central Europe.

DTZ's Austrian, Hungarian and Czech managing directors will now report to Colquhoun in Poland rather than Peter Collins in Britain.

DTZ now employs more than 300 in the four Central European countries. "Our rapid northern European growth requires a fresh approach and Alan's longstanding experience in the region will benefit our clients and provide support to the managing directors of the individual regional countries," says DTZ's Northern European managing director Peter Collins. "These will continue to run their national businesses as before. This improved management structure will help DTZ better serve its clients," he adds.

Colquhoun joined DTZ Prague in 1993 as a senior office leasing agent. He later went on to become agency director before being made managing director of DTZ Czech Republic in July 1996. Colquhoun relocated to Warsaw to take up the position of managing director of DTZ Poland in July 1999. He is a native of Edinburgh, Scotland but has lived and worked outside Britain since 1983. He has a background in business studies and transport planning and qualified as a chartered surveyor in Oct. 2006.
